Heavy snow storms heavy killed at least 32 people in Northern China (most of the deaths happened from car accidents). More than 15,000 buildings have collapsed, and more than 300,000 hectares of winter crops were destroyed. Also, more than 166,000 people had to evacuate there homes. The heavy snowfalls started on Monday in central and northern parts of China. The capital of Beijing was struck by three successive snowfalls. Beijing and the area around it is not very equipped with de-icing supplies and snow plows. These have been China's heaviest snowfalls according to records that have been keep since 1949
